An Obstacle to Success Is….FEAR

What really keeps most people from living their dreams? What problem is the most dominant obstacle to success? The answer is: FEAR!

Some people live every day in fear. Fear of losing their wealth, fear of losing their loved ones, fear of making the wrong decisions, fear of being themselves, fear of growing up, fear of making a commitment. The list goes on and on.

The leading cause of people not fulfilling their dreams and becoming successful is the obstacle of FEAR. The fear of failing, the fear of being successful, or the fear of making a mistake. Let’s not forget the “fear of what others may think of us”. All of these fears will cause us to step away and not

Most people live their lives in the grip of this fear and they aren’t even aware that it has control over them! The fear is the one thing that can turn your dreams of financial freedom, loving relationships, and a fulfilling and significant life into a pattern of habits including procrastination, self-sabotage and other bad habits.

If fear is the dominate problem in your life today, then answer these two questions you to remove the obstacle of fear from your life:

  1. Which fear has the most control over your behavior? Is it the fear of failure, the fear of rejection, the fear of success, or is it all of them?
  2. How do I interrupt the bad habits that I have developed as a means of protection from this fear? How do I interrupt the programming I have within me?

These are the two most significant questions when it comes to overcoming your fears. If you can answer these two questions, your life can change!

The reality of fear is that it is human and is a part of life. It’s not going to go away. Some fear is even healthy! It is a gift given to you to keep you safe and bring you closer to your creator. This is not a bad kind of fear because it keeps us out of trouble.

Every time I am about to enter into a season or a stage in life that is unknown or different, I use this comforting passage of scripture:

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Each of us have to remember that we can operate in power, love, and sound mind in every area of our lives, if we choose to do so. This truth has helped me so many times throughout my career and as I built my businesses. I believe that it can bring comfort to many others as well.
