3 Lessons on Self-Image w/Middle School Students (FREE Video Clip)

Do you know students who could value from learning about their self-image? Do you want to equip your students on how to prepare for their future by improving their self-image? Watch this short clip as I talk with 7th & 8th graders about the importance of their self-image.

I enjoy speaking with students. In this short clip, I wanted to share with these bright 7th & 8th graders, the importance of how they view themselves. So many times, we do not have the proper self-image. The way we see ourselves determines the range of our success. Here are some key tips for parents and educators regarding self-image:

  1. START TEACHING SELF-IMAGE EARLY

It is never too early to teach young people about their self-image and their value! Do not ever think that it is too soon to teach a young girl or boy about how important and valuable they are. Our image of who we are starts at a young age. So start them off young!

2. PRACTICE POSITIVE DAILY AFFIRMATIONS

Do you ever see the movie “The Help”? It was really good in my opinion. I especially enjoyed how the young girl in the movie was constantly affirmed that she was smart, kind, and important! This is what we must do for ourselves, for our children, and for the children that we educate.

3. SURROUND YOURSELF WITH POSITIVE IMAGES

Place positive images around you, your family and students. Find newspaper articles, images, family photos, and personal pictures that reflect a positive image and vision. Being around positive images of who you are and who you aspire to become will stimulate your positive self image.
