Work-From-Home Mom Tips To Success

Work-From-Home moms are on the rise! Balancing being a CEO & Mother is important. Here are 3 tips on how to have success as a work-from-home mom.

For those who do not know, I recently took a break for maternity leave. I recently had a healthy and happy baby boy. He has been a blessing to our family. We are still in the newborn glow in our home. Our home is a faith-based household. We look at children as a blessing from God.

Since, I am a work from home mom, also known as a mompreneur, I get to set my own hours and get to move at my own pace. I enjoy having the flexibility of having my own hours and being able to spend time with my kids. This reminds me of why I wanted to work for myself. It also has some drawbacks. Because I am the person that is the CEO of my own company, I have to make sure that the company is still moving along while I am taking time out. I do not have multiple departments and assistants just yet.

Does this story sound familiar? Are any of you in the same situation? Here are some things that I have learned.

1.Being A Work From Home Mom Has Great Reward, But With Hard Work & Sacrifice

If you are a mompreneur or a person looking to have your own business, always know that with this journey comes great reward, but also hard work and sacrifice. Therefore, it is essential that you do something that you are called to do and that you love to do. So that your business does not feel like work. See, when I talk with all of you and share leadership and business tips, it does not feel like work to me. I enjoy it very much and is able to make a living.

2. Be Encouraged And Find Your Purpose

I want to encourage you, to find your calling and your purpose. If you want to have a business and be a mom, DO IT! Take the time to find out what you are supposed to do. Being a mom doesn’t have to end your career, it can ENHANCE your opportunities. Sometimes we “mom shame” ourselves and think that we should not want to have a business of our own. Or we think that it is wrong to want a business. Let’s not “mom shame” ourselves. If it is in our hearts to pursue it, then do it!

3. Think Outside Of The Box

Get creative with what your resources to make it work. You may not be the “typical”mom so to speak.  You may have your child with you while you work. For me, I picked diaper bags that could also carry a laptop. As mompreneurs, we can not ever be afraid of trying something new or worrying about what other people may say. So get creative! Having a baby is not a set back but a set UP for your greatness.
