Imagine 2 flower beds. One flower bed is 3 times larger than the other flower bed. In the smaller flower bed, there are flowers already blooming. When this happens, the morale of a company and sales professional can go through the roof. It is a great feeling. However, with this type of selling, it is a short amount of room to grow and at some point will become stagnant. This is why many companies experience a high turn over rate.
Now, let’s look at the second flower bed. This flower bed is just filled with dirt. There are not any flowers in this flower bed yet. Therefore, it is necessary to sow seeds into this flower bed, to water the seeds, and fertilize the seeds. This flower bed is 3 times larger than the other. Thus, this is where you will spend most of your time and energy.
Growth is gradual and will produce the right harvest during its season. Thus, sowing, watering, and harvesting is essential to business growth.
Here is what these items represent:
The Seeds represent how you and your company would a) educate a potential client, b) network with a potential client or partner, and c) do business with a potential client or partner. Therefore, sowing the right time of seeds is necessary to get the right type of harvest.
Water is natural. We always think that we should water our seeds. However, each seed has a season. There is a season for sowing, watering, and harvesting. In the watering season, you are educating your customer with the basic industry information and data.
3) Fertilizer – The Miracle Grow
Fertilizer represents the above and beyond for your clients. This is when you take your leadership and reputation attributes and use them to communicate with and educate your customer. This sets you apart for the rest. For a client to buy, they need to Know, Like, and Trust you. All of us have strengths and weakness. When a person identifies their strengths, they learn what a person likes about them and there can leverage that into their brand and communication. In addition, when a person discovers their weaknesses, they can learn what is wrong and attempt to fix it.
